Awkwafina was an American performer and actress. She started by releasing humorous, cleverly written lyrics in rap that dealt with topics like race and sexual orientation. Later, she broadened her audience to Hollywood. Nora Lum began her musical career as a musician on the trumpet. She was born in Forest Hills Queens, she was the daughter of Chinese immigrants as well as Koreans. In the following years, she took up traditional and hip-hop training.
