Chef Antonia Lofaso's culinary creations are an opportunity to delve into deep into her interior world. The curiosity in her grew after she left for the Long Island suburbs to explore the rich cultural diversity of Los Angeles. Cavatellis and carnitas mingling in the same dish is her belief. What remains, however, in all of her dishes is an unifying vision of the future, while also reminiscing about the previous. Motivated by her American-born Italian heritage, Lofaso launched Scopa Italian Roots in 2013 which was immediately well received. Lofaso's interpretation of classic Italian food is among Los Angeles's most popular restaurants. Customers describe Scopa as an essential neighbourhood staple, where Lofaso always offers food that is authentic and undeniably satiating. Lofaso was trained by some of the best chefs in the world and learned their advanced techniques, but was never unwilling to follow her own intuitions. She soon rose to the ranks of Wolfgang Puck's Spago after which she went into working closely with celebs in several Los Angeles kitchens. In 2011 Lofaso joined forces along with Sal Aurora and Mario Guddemi to launch Black Market Liquor Bar in Studio City.
