Gemma Christina Arterton, an English actress, is known for roles in movies like Quantum of Solace, The Disappearance of Alice Creed, and ?Hansel And Gretel: Witch Hunters. Her birthplace was Gravesend located in Greater London. After completing her studies in the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art and a few years of professional work, she made her debut with a role as supporting actress in the comedy 'St Trinian's'. She also appeared in the James Bond film Quantum of Solace, which was released just a few days later, she was a supporting role. It was an average film which was generally mediocre reviewers. She then played an actress in the action fantasy film 'Princess of Persia The Sands of Time'. Recently, she acted in as a support role for"Orphan," the French"Orphan" film "Orphan". Her work has been recognized for many awards. She was awarded the highly coveted Empire Award for best newcomer for her role in Quantum of Solace and the Evening Standard Theatre Award for her role in Made in Dagenham. Her award was an award called the Glamour Award for the Woman of the Year in 2011.
